Infinity Sports Management driver Sonny Smith joins R-Racing for his first full campaign of Ginetta Juniors

Sonny Smith is set to tackle his first full Junior Campaign after contesting selected rounds of Ginetta Juniors last year and also competing in the Winter series.

The Hampshire-born driver made his debut last year, where he showcased his impressive raw pace and race craft in his step up into cars with best finish of 11th. Sonny continued to impress in the Winter series where he took the Rookie crown.

R-Racing will be defending their Michelin Ginetta Junior Championship titles this season with a capacity six car entry, where Sonny will be joined by 3 other rookie drivers. The Norfolk-based team won their first overall drivers’ crown last year and they will be looking to continue this success this year.

"I can't wait to get the season started and chase after some really good results like the team had last year. I am looking forward to competing in my first full season of Ginetta Juniors and hopefully I can continue with the success I had in the winter series and develop even further in 2022. "

Harry Soden – Director of Infinity Sports Management

"Sonny had a really strong debut in 2021 and with the experience he gained through the races and also all the winter testing, we know he’ll be fighting up the front in this next step in his racing career."
