Charlie Eastwood further extends AMR links with Junior role

In just his second season of endurance racing, Charlie Eastwood’s efforts have been recognised by Aston Martin Racing, who today confirm his new status as AMR Junior within the racing division.

The Northern Irish racer currently competes with TF Sport in both the FIA World Endurance Championship and the Blancpain GT Series and in a short space of time has firmly established himself within the team and the Aston Martin Racing family.

Charlie has already been heavily involved in the AMR Driver Academy where he helped potential future stars of the sport through the selection and assessment process. In addition, Charlie will contribute to the ongoing development and testing of the new GT3 and GT4 Vantages, whilst acting as mentor to the new Academy drivers confirmed today.

“I’m delighted to sign this contract with Aston Martin Racing,” Charlie said. “I’m still relatively new to endurance racing and the results and pace have been good. I’ve proven my consistency over stints at a very high level.

“Joining AMR is a real privilege and I will continue to work hard and develop my role in terms of test and development, but also in data analysis and mentoring of the Academy drivers.”

For Aston Martin Racing, the addition of Charlie to their programme can only be of benefit.

"The Aston Martin Racing Driver Academy is an important first step on a pathway to success within our organisation," stated Aston Martin Racing President David King. "With the recent promotion of Charlie Eastwood to Junior status, we now have talented individuals at all stages of the driving ladder within the team."

Charlie recently returned from the 1000 Miles of Sebring with TF Sport and has since tested at Spa-Francorchamps in preparation for the next round of the FIA World Endurance Championship. He is also set to start his second season in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup which gets underway next month at Monza.
