British F4 vice-champ Sebastian Alvarez graduates to British F3 for 2020 season

Infinity Sports Management are delighted to announce that Sebastian Alvarez will contest the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship for the 2020 season. Graduating to Formula 3 machinery, the Mexican driver will be teaming up once again with Double R Racing, with whom he raced to vice-champion in British F4 last season.

Since making his single-seater debut in 2018, Sebastian has proven his talent in abundance, earning four Rookie class podiums and a best overall finish of sixth on his way to 12th overall in his rookie season.

The Mexican ace returned in a strong title campaign in 2019, where he took five race victories and 14 other podiums on his way to the runner-up spot in the driver standings. Leading the championship heading into the season finale, he missed out on title honours by a mere 20 points.

Taking place across 8 events, the BRDC British F3 Championship visits the best of British circuits, including Silverstone and Brands Hatch. Returning to tracks where he has enjoyed previous success and with talent and pace on his side, Sebastian is sure to be fighting at the forefront of the championship, when racing gets underway.

Sebastian speaks ahead of the 2020 season:

“I am really happy to continue working with Double R for a third year in a row. It’s been a busy off-season and I am really looking forward to the beginning of the championship, to start racing again.
It’s fantastic to be making the step up into BRDC British Formula 3, especially off the back of such a strong and successful season in F4 with the team last year. Everyone works together really well and the team has had a lot of success in F3, so we’re aiming for a very strong season together.”

Infinity Sports Management director Gary Catt echoes:

“Sebastian is more than ready for the step up to F3 machinery, his pace and racecraft was really impressive last season and he ensured he was a strong championship contender from start to finish. Both on and off track, he’s developed well over the year and returning to Double R Racing is the perfect partnership. 2020 is sure to be an exciting year for him”

The season begins at Oulton Park on 11th April, where following a strong off-season training regime, Sebastian will be sure to hit the ground running.
