American driver Neil Verhagen joins Infinity Sports Management

Infinity Sports Management are proud to announce that Neil Verhagen is the latest driver to join their roster of talented young drivers ahead of his 2019 BRDC British Formula 3 Campaign.

Hot off the back of a competitive campaign in Formula Renault 2.0, the young American will be joining reigning team champions Double R Racing.

Hailing from Mooresvile, North Carolina, Neil began his career in karting, hitting the ground running as he was crowned Vice-Champion of the 2012 Florida Winter Tour Minimax Series. His success only continued when he made the graduation into cars in 2015, a year which saw him finish second in the Skip Barber Winter Series, with several race wins to his name.

Contesting the F1600 Championship in his first year in car racing, he returned in 2016 to win the title. His impressive talent saw him qualify for the SCCA National Championship Runoffs, aged just 15 years and 242 days, Neil made history by becoming the youngest driver ever to win the competition. He also qualified for the prestigious Mazda ‘Road To Indy’ Shootout.

Moving to Europe in 2017, as part of the Red Bull Junior Team in Eurocup FR, Neil narrowly missed out on a top 10 championship finish and achieved a maiden podium result at the Hungaroring. Returning in 2018, he remained competitive in the championship, finishing 11th overall with a best result of fourth place at the Red Bull Ring.

Joining Infinity Sports Management, sees Neil move into a formative stage in his career, teaming with a strong outfit in Double R Racing to contest the BRDC British F3 Championship.

Gary Catt, Director of Infinity Sports Management praised:

“We are happy Neil will be joining the British F3 series with Double R this year. Neil is a talented lad and I’m sure with Double R’s experience in the series it will help him with learning all the new things that will be thrown at him this year.”

Double R team principal Anthony Hieatt echoed:

“We’re obviously over the moon to complete our line-up for British F3 this year with a young driver as talented as Neil, he has a huge amount of potential and brings good experience from Formula Renault for his first season in F3.

From what we’ve seen in testing so far, there are some very positive signs for the year ahead and Neil has immediately gelled with the team and the car. You can never look too far ahead, but I’m more than confident Neil will be a standout driver in his first season in Formula 3.”

Now relishing the opportunity, Neil cannot wait to get the 2019 season underway:

“I am thrilled to sign with Double R for the upcoming British F3 season. Most of the tracks are new to me, so I’m looking forward to racing on those challenging circuits. After testing with the team, and seeing their dedication and our performance, I am confident everything will be in place for us to have a very successful season.”

Taking place across 8 events, 2019 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship races upon the most iconic British circuits. With talent and experience on his side, 2019 looks bright for the young American driver.
