Olli Caldwell

Since he began karting, Olli Caldwell has been on a one way track to success. Performing beyond his young age, Olli has been pushing the barriers and claiming records throughout the junior formulae he has competed in.

Making the step to the Ginetta Junior Championship at the halfway point of the 2016 season, having had to wait to meet the age requirements. He made an instant impact by becoming the youngest driver ever to grace the podium, at his first race.

Joining the FIA British F4 Championship in 2017 in a similar situation, having turned 16 after 4 rounds had been completed, Olli mounted the challenge and consistently placed within the top-10. Pushing himself further, Olli also tackled the Italian F4 and ADAC F4 Championships ahead of a full season campaign the following year.

Following a strong winter in the UAE Formula 4 series, where Olli took three wins and four podiums. 2018 saw Olli contest a mighty challenge, juggling his GCSEs, along with racing a dual campaign across Italian and ADAC F4 Championships.

Teaming up with PREMA, Olli took a victory and 4 podiums in the ADAC series, including gracing the podium in front of the watching eye of the Formula 1 paddock, as part of the support series for the German GP.

Tackling the Italian F4 championship, Olli scored 4 victories, 11 podiums and 3 pole positions, to take third in the standings. The highlight of the season came when he claimed a clean sweep at Vallelunga, taking pole position, victory in each race and even a fastest lap to boot. Adding another string to his bow, the Brit also claimed GT4 victory at the 2018 Gulf 12 Hours.

Sticking with PREMA for the 2019 Formula Regional European Championship, Olli ended the year with one win and five podiums.

In 2020, Olli officially joined the Formula 1 support paddock as he signed for Trident in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. Gaining invaluable experience, in what was a difficult year for many in motorsport due to the pandemic. Switching to PREMA for his second year in the championship, Olli ended the season with a total of four podiums, including. a maiden win.

The 2021 season ended with a series of firsts for the talented Brit, as he got his first taste of both LMP2 machinery competing in the WEC 8 Hours of Bahrain as well as FIA Formula 2, as he joined Campos for the final two rounds of the season.

Continuing with Campos for 2022 and following on from his Formula 3 campaign, where he fought for the title. Olli caught the attention of Alpine F1 Team’s driver academy and was signed up to accelerate towards his dreams, receiving training and supporting Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon with simulator work as well as his first taste of F1 machinery completing two successful test days with the team and their 2021 car.

This year sees Olli graduate from the acamdey and join the Alpine ELF Endurance Team for the 2023 FIA WEC Championship, competing in LMP2 machinery in prepartion for Alpine's return to Hypercar machinery in 2024.
