Nicolai Kjærgaard

Carving his craft in the grassroots of motorsport, Nicolai started karting at the age of 7. Rising through the ranks, from national events in his native Denmark with strong results, to competing in the international CIK-FIA and WSK competitions.

Graduating to single-seaters in 2016, Nicolai took to the wheel of Formula 4 machinery for the FIA British F4 Championship with Fortec Motorsport. Seamlessly making the transition, he consistently found himself running within the top-10 throughout the season, on his way to third position in the Rookie Cup. Making the step up to the BRDC British F3 Championship in 2017, Nicolai continued his strong form, claiming points at every event.

2018 season saw the Dane team up with Carlin Racing to tackle his second year in BRDC British F3. Impressing from the off, scoring his first podium at the first race was just the start for Nicolai, as he began sensational run of form throughout the season. With five wins, ten podiums and five fastest laps, the young charger ended the year as Vice Champion, after battling it out and taking the title fight to the final event. Continuing his good run of form, Nicolai graduated to Euroformula Open in 2019, earning five podiums at Pau, Silverstone and Catalunya.

In 2020 the Danish driver was announced as a member of  the Bentley Motorsport Academy, joining Team Parker Racing in the GT World Challenge Europe alongside fellow Infinity Sports Management pilot Frank Bird. 

After a positive development year, Nicolai switched to the Garage 59 team for 2021, contesting a duel campaign of Endurance Cup and Sprint Cup. Where he enjoyed podiums at Imola and the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa.

Remaining an integral part of the Garage 59 squad in 2022, Nicolai further enjoyed podium success at Valencia, Imola and Barcelona. This year sees Nicolai take the step up to fight for PRO title honours with the team as a McLaren Junior Pro driver.
