Amaury Cordeel

Amaury Cordeel came to motorsport via an unusual route, his first experience of racing happening not in karts, as for a lot of drivers but in Formula 4.

Although he had driven karts plenty as a youngster and put in many hours of testing, Amaury started his career in 2017 with an entry to the French F4 championship. 21 races later, he took on the UAE F4 series over the winter and then competed in races in Italian F4, ADAC Formula 4 in Germany and SMP F4 in Russia and Finland and the Spanish F4 championship, all in 2018.

With such a packed programme, Amaury was able to rapidly gain experience and in just his second year of racing claimed the Spanish F4 title, beating 14 more experienced drivers when he was aged just 16.

For 2019 Amaury took the step up to Formula Renault Eurocup as his main programme and also competed in the F3 Asian Winter Series and main F3 Asian championship. The complicated 2020 season saw him repeat Eurocup, on his way to a 2021 FIA Formula 3 seat.

Now with 24 FIA Formula 2 races under his belt, Amaury’s rise to the highest level of junior single seaters has been meteoric. His next seasons will see him build his race craft and move the 20 year old Belgian further up the steps to Formula 1.
