First stepping into a kart at the age of six Matteo Nannini, the nephew of former Formula One driver Alessandro Nannini, the Italian quickly made an impression. Winning his first title in the 2014 Trofeo Academy Championkart, whilst earning himself a spot-on Fernando Alonso’s karting team for 2015 in the process.
With the backing of the double world champion’s team Matteo won his second title, the Trofeo di Campioni in 2016. In addition to these championships, the Italian claimed an additional 5 vice-championship titles.
Making the jump to single-seaters, in 2019 Matteo joined the Formula Renault Eurocup, Formula Regional European Championship, Formula 4 Spanish and UAE paddocks. Truly shining in F4 UAE, claiming seven wins, nine further podiums, seven pole positions and seven fastest laps for his debut year.
Entering the world stage in 2020, Matteo joined the Formula 1 support paddock, as he made the move to the FIA Formula 3 Championship with Jenzer Motorsport. Securing his debut podium during the Sprint Race at the Circuit de Catalunya, in front of all the Formula 1 bosses and the worlds media was a true highlight for the young racer.
For 2021, Matteo will switch to HWA Racelab contesting again in the FIA F3 Championship
